In November, 2013 some good samaritans captured this male on a tennis court in Green Mountain Falls. As they approached we are told he completely gave up as he shivered and tried desperately to hide under a pile of leaves. Neighbors had seen him running the streets for several weeks by that time. They took him to the Animal Clinic of Woodland Park where our vet treated him. Bloodwork showed he was pretty malnourished and he was clearly very thin under his thick coat. With no option available to them, they asked if we could house him. All of the paperwork we were given that day was labeled Dog and the name kind of stuck. We named him Dawg.
Dawg is a great guy with personality plus but he definitely talks dog rather than wolfdog. Originally he hung out with Gray Cloud, but her rambunctious playfulness annoyed Dawg too much and he truly didn't always understand how she communicated. He now lives with Maya, a coydog who is a bit older and plays a little less rough with him and seems to speak the same language.
